I loved having this conversation today with the inspiring and generous Sarah McCraw Crow of An Unfinished Story.
By profiling and interviewing authors who debuted later in life, Sarah is encouraging us all that we have all the time we need. It’s a reminder that I, for one, need regularly!
Here are some takeaways from our conversation:
We often have to write into the story to find out what it’s about.
The final version doesn’t always match what was originally in our head…and that is okay.
Sometimes the best choice is to follow the new idea and leave the old work behind for a bit. Sometimes the best choice is to stay with the current project. There isn’t a right answer. Making the decision intentionally will help.
Writing before consuming any other news or other media helps with focus and ease in the process.
Doubts will always be present, no matter what stage you’re in.
Thank you to those who joined us live today! Stay tuned for more Conversations with Writers.
Warmly,
Stephanie
